We are a small team passionate about our craft and the buildings and objects we care for. We are based on the picturesque coast of Cardigan Bay and predominantly work across the south, west and mid-Wales, although often venturing further afield.
About Thomas Alun Kinghorn-Evans:
Thomas Alun Kinghorn-Evans is an experienced conservator and accredited stonemason with over 20 years of experience working on historic buildings. He has worked on some of the country’s most significant buildings and demanding projects over this time, and before establishing Cardigan Bay Architectural Conservation Ltd, he had worked for and alongside some of the country’s finest craftspeople and professionals- highlights including time spent with the conservation team at Lincoln Cathedral; managing a team of masons during the restoration of Cardigan Castle; and supervising the ‘Clerestory Shaft Project’ at Llandaff Cathedral.
In 2016, he became a Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings Fellow. He could travel to the UK and learn from the leading practitioners and professionals in the most significant buildings. Having developed his craft and technical understanding, this unrivalled programme has also informed his conservation philosophy and approach. He has also been a SPAB Guardian and taken on roles such as co-chairing the Education and Training Committee, organising training/engagement events and contributing to publications and lecture series.
He is also a trustee and former William Morris Craft Fellowship Trust treasurer. The charity aims to raise funds and awareness to advance the education and training of traditional building skills. (If you would consider donating and would like to know more, please click on the link below.)
